Pomus is a neighbourhood restaurant, wine bar and bottle shop with locations in Margate and Folkestone.
Rooted in Kent and guided by the seasons, our menu changes often, shaped by what's growing and what feels right.
Everything we do is built around good produce, good wine and good people, making you feel right at home with us.
Our menus are low-waste, inclusive and always changing. Guided by what’s growing, what’s landed and what feels right. Simple plates. Thoughtful cooking. Nothing overworked.
Wine is taken seriously, but not too seriously. A considered list of award-winning bottles from people doing things properly. Drink here. Take some home. Repeat as needed.
Pomus is relaxed, generous and comfortable. A place for locals. A place for visitors. Come in for a glass. Stay for the evening. Make yourself at home.
A champion for the industry, Ryan Jacovides started his hospitality journey collecting glasses in a local pub and spending his rebellious youth bunking off school to visit Margate. Fast forward and Ryan has years of experience under his belt, having been group MD at Jamie Oliver Group, working with White Rabbit Projects and Megan's, as well as being the founding partner of Bristol-based Pasture Restaurant Group and consulting for F1 Arcade.
"My family & I have been holidaying in Margate for many generations and even back then I said I'd open a bar here. Having now lived in Margate for a while, the time feels right to liveout a long standing dream."
With the Folkestone site opening just a year later, Ryan "felt like there were so many things that resonated. From the Grade II listed frontage, to the prevalent art scene, we felt Pomus would be right at home in Folkestone."
